The Woodlands, Texas / Established 1978

The first name in air conditioning here, and still the one that picks up.

Sam Dillion started Air Woodlands in 1978 and named it so it would sit at the front of the phone book. Forty eight years on it is still local, still family owned, and still running 24 hours a day across The Woodlands and Montgomery County.

The trucks

Their own line is the trust behind the trucks

Two generations have driven that livery around Montgomery County. Sam ran it from 1978, partnered with Jeremy Laurence in 2011, and handed him the lead in 2018. The name on the van has not changed hands outside the family since.

  1. Call

    A

    Someone picks up

There is no answering service and no callback window. The company has run 24 hours a day since Sam was taking weekend and holiday calls himself in the early years.

  2. Read

    B

The meter goes on the unit

High-side PSI is the first honest number before you quote a recharge. A compressor pulling hard against a failing capacitor or a blocked condenser reads high long before it trips the breaker and quits.

  3. Say

    C

You get told what it is

In plain words, with the options laid out. One customer wrote that Scott identified a failed condenser fan motor in about fifteen minutes and explained it without the jargon.

  4. Fix

    D

    It gets put right

Repair the same visit where the part is on the van. Where it needs a system, financing through Synchrony means it does not have to be paid up front.

I cannot say enough great things about Air Woodlands! Scott came out to our home this morning around 10:30 AM and had the issue diagnosed within about 15 minutes. He quickly identified that our condenser fan motor had failed and explained everything in simple, easy-to-understand terms without any confusing technical jargon. What impressed us most was how fast and efficient the service was.Sana Majo, Google review

1978

The phone book year

The name was a filing decision

Sam Dillion had been working for a real estate inspection company when he learned to repair air conditioners, got his own licence, and went out on his own. He called the company Air Woodlands because he lived in The Woodlands, and because starting with the letter A put him at the front of the phone book, which was how people found anyone in 1978.

He says the business grew because he offered prompt service not just during regular hours but on weekends and holidays too. That is still the operating hours today, and it is the part of the company that has not moved in forty eight years.
