Mini Split System Installation

Mitsubishi ductless mini-splits for any space your central system can't reach. Single-zone and multi-zone configurations, professionally installed and commissioned.

Ductless cooling and heating where ducts cannot go

Not every space is connected to a central system, and not every space should be. A garage with a workshop, a sunroom addition, a converted attic bedroom, a server closet that needs precise temperature control year-round. For these spaces, a mini-split is the right answer. We install Mitsubishi Electric systems because their reliability record in the Gulf Coast climate is documented, their warranty process is clean, and their inverter-driven compressors handle the constant on/off cycling of a zone that runs only part of the day. Multi-zone systems can serve two to eight indoor heads from a single outdoor unit, which keeps penetrations through the building envelope minimal.

What installation day looks like

A single-zone mini-split installation typically takes four to six hours. Multi-zone systems depend on the number of heads and line set routing, but most are completed in one day. We commission every unit, verify refrigerant charge, test at multiple load points, and walk you through the remote and app controls before we leave.

Where we install them

Common mini-split applications

  • Detached garages and workshops
  • Sunrooms and enclosed patios
  • Bonus rooms and home additions
  • Home offices requiring dedicated climate control
  • Server rooms and equipment spaces
  • Older homes without existing ductwork
  • Guest suites and in-law apartments
  • Converted spaces (barns, studios, carriage houses)

Single-zone vs. multi-zone

A single-zone system pairs one outdoor unit with one indoor head. A multi-zone system runs two to eight indoor heads from one outdoor unit, sharing the compressor. Multi-zone is more efficient when multiple spaces need conditioning simultaneously. Single-zone costs less upfront and makes sense when you are only adding one space.

Why Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Electric's Hyper-Heat units maintain full heating capacity down to -13 degrees Fahrenheit. In practice, they simply never struggle in a Houston winter. Their SEER2 ratings are among the highest available, and their kumo cloud Wi-Fi interface works reliably. We have installed enough of them to trust the warranty process and know the failure modes.
